  1. What an unusual wish in wanting time to pass more quickly when it is so precious. I did feel that once myself when waiting for my wedding day! Since then every moment is is like a rare diamond for me.

  2. Sometimes we just know that the best lays ahead... we need to get to that point... just hope we can stop the rush when we are there.

  3. Thank you, Amrit, for posting this. Oh, if only we could...
Happy New Year to you. It's been a long time, since One Single Impression. I hope you are doing well. And "Amen" to Old Egg with his spouse. We have been married 44 years, 45 in February. Today is also Mrs. Jim's birthday.

  4. I am the opposite. At my age, one wants to slow the speeding weeks to a crawl.....smiles......A wonderful poem, Amrit! So nice to see you.

  5. A poem full of truths. But, I do not want my days to rush by/forward. I'd rather meet the mystery fresh and new, every day. But I understand the wishing behind it. As I get older, I find I want my days to slow down, unless it is my birthday! Great write.

  6. No way to skip the epilogue, friend. Hard reality. Wish you a great year ahead.

  7. I too, as an ancient one, wish time would pass more slowly...
I wish to be alive when my adult children reach a comfortable existence. I would dearly love to see my grandsons reach adulthood and know their life to be good too. But will I be here then to achieve those goals? Hopefully...
That said, I do understand how you desire time to pass by more quickly, to reach your best of times. But accept each day as a passage towards this time, otherwise there will be no joy in reaching your dream.
    Do have a wonderful 2018.

  10. '. . . to skim through the epilogue of this year . . . "
Sometimes, I skim the end of a book, too, before deciding to live in it.

  11. What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.

  12. Late in getting my comments to you. Guess at my age I have to disagree about wanting time to hurry. I long to stretch the happy days especially out as long as they’ll last.
